Ecommerce sites involve the sale of your goods over the Internet. These sites typically have a shopping cart for the visitor to place one or more products into, and then a checkout process that collects their contact details, delivery address and payment details. Finally, a link is made to a secure payment processing facility - but not before an opportunity for an upsell product has been presented to them.

• Order processing through the control panel:

This allows you to process new orders that come in, and to access the details of all previous orders through the system.

• A Sales Reporting Module:

This means that you can produce a graph of sales by date range, by month or comparing this month's sales with the same month in earlier years.

• Report recent sales by product:

This allows you to show only orders that have included a specific product - so that you can easily see how many of those products are ordered in a typical month and can adjust your stock levels accordingly.

• Automatic amails sent to customers:

An email is automatically sent to all customers placing an order - and a despatch email is sent when their order is processed. You can change the wording of these emails yourself, through the easy to use control panel.

• Voucher codes:

This allows you to provide potential customers with a 'discount voucher code' which they enter during the checkout process - and the relevant discount assigned to that code is automatically given. You can turn these voucher codes on and off to suit yourself, and of course set the level of discount for each. All of the serious shopping sites use these, and they are a great tool to use in conjunction with the newsletter (mentioned above) to get customers to place repeat orders.

• Next day delivery option:

This allows you to specify an additional charge if the customer selects next-day delivery through the checkout process - and then orders with this option paid for are automatically highlighted in the order queue for priority treatment.

• Your customers will be able to view their order history.

• Stock control option:

This option allows you to view your stock levels at any time
