A Favicon for your Website
A Favicon is a very small image that you upload to the main directory of your website, which then appears in these three parts of a web browser:
The image file is only 16 pixels wide by 16 pixels high - and has to be in a particular icon format (an .ico file) - and must be named favicon.ico.
Because 16 pixels width and height is small for any image, you are restricted in what you can fit into it. Most often, it will be your logo - or even a small part of your logo or website design.If you look at the ClickScene favicon, we have chosen to use just the circle with the hand & finger. This is enough for visitors to recognise this as part of our logo - and having a favicon that appears in several places in the web browser makes our website appear more professional. It is amazing how many successful websites still don't manage to get themselves a favicon!
